Tiny Dragons Class (4-6 Years Old)
Our Tiny Dragon program focuses on improving your preschooler’s basic motor,
social and emotional skills. These skills will help them enter society with a more
confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school,
better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. The time between ages 4 and
6 are some of the most critical years in a child’s development. Many psychologists think that a
child’s personality is set during this age period. The Tiny Dragon Program is designed to
enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.
The Tiny Dragons Program will also prepare your child for our Junior Dragon Martial Arts
Programs. Your child will be exposed to positive social interaction – learning to follow
instructions and work with others. This will help prepare them for kindergarten and school.
CMA instructors are good role models trained to work with pre-school aged children. All
classes are taught using the most safe, fun and exciting instruction methods available for this
age group. This is a great way for kids to get exercise and have fun!
We also focus on child safety, teaching self defense against both other children and adults. The self-defense
includes not just physical techniques but also strategies to avoid a conflict. We stress using physical skills only as a
last resort. We also help children understand, in a non-threatening way, the threats that exist in the world. An aware
child is a safer child and our goal is to make sure that our children are not easy targets for potential harm. We use a
variety of drills and role-playing games to develop these skills.
The Junior Dragons Program also incorporates the “Powerful Words” character development system. Developed by
Dr.Robyn Silverman, “Powerful Words” gives children character-building tools using age appropriate language and
exercises. Each month introduces a new “word of the month” - recent words are respect, discipline, generosity and
health. At CMA, our goal is develop character using a martial arts theme. For more information on the Powerful
Words program and valuable parenting tips, visit Dr. Robyn’s Blog, http://www.DrRobynsBlog.com or the Powerful

Teen Dragon Program (12 – 15 years old)
The CMA&F Teen Dragon is designed to help teenagers develop and improve basic physical skills such as balance,
coordination, motor skills, agility and strength. This is done through the use of exercises and games that challenge
the student’s abilities yet are fun and exciting. Studies show that children with higher levels of motor skills do better
academically and socially. The program also uses cooperative games and drills to help develop social skills such as
teamwork, communication and leadership. Teens will improve discipline, memory, concentration and focus, both short
term and long term, as they meet the requirements and advance from rank to rank. One of the overall goals of all of
CMA&F programs is to teach individuals to set and reach long-term goals (Black Belt) through short-term goals
(lower rank belts). The progression through the ranks teaches that perseverance and hard work yield positive
results.

Advanced Programs
Black Belt / Masters Program
Our Junior and Teen Dragons classes are divided into Basic and Black
Belt / Masters Levels. The first year – generally from White Belt to Green
belt – is designed to build a foundation of solid character traits, basic
martial arts and self-defense skills. The Black Belt / Masters program is
designed for those that want to make the commitment to Black Belt and
beyond. This is a 3 year journey that will help the student learn to
maintain the highest standards in behavior as well as to set and achieve
the highest goals. Candidates for this program must meet the highest
standards in training, school and at home.

Leadership Program
Our Leadership program is an additional program for those from the Basic and Black Belt Programs that are
interested in developing their leadership skills. This class involves additional physical training but more importantly
involves classroom training to develop those traits common to leaders. The classroom work will involve reading a
selected series of books and preparing reports or projects bases on the leadership principles. This training will
benefit the student in school and in the future job market.
This program is available to all Basic and Black Belt students. They are required to maintain a minimum “B” average
in school, the highest standards of conduct, and unanimous approval from instructors and be sponsored by an adult
(other than a parent).
Competitive Jiu-Jitsu Program
CMA also offers a competitive Jiu-Jitsu program for those students wishing to participate in Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
and Submission grappling competitions. This class is open to all students 7 years old and up that are currently
training at CMA. Non-CMA students will be accepted on an individual basis.
